Make an appointment with a doctor or health specialist without picking up the phone. This is the new service offered by the doctena.lu website. On the platform, the user indicates the consultation he needs, the city where he lives and the language or languages he speaks. The list of professionals corresponding to the criteria is displayed with, importantly, proposals for available time slots to obtain an appointment. After filling out a form, the appointment request is sent.

“The confirmation arrives within half a working day,” adds Patrick Kersten, the founder of the site. Advantages: no need to call for an appointment and the possibility to book one at any time of the day or week…

“The service can help newcomers to the Grand Duchy who do not know who to contact. They can find doctors near them who speak their language,” continues Patrick Kersten. It also frees up time for secretaries who can better welcome patients and take care of administrative work.

About 50 practitioners are currently listed, and the goal is to be exhaustive. The service is free for patients, professionals pay to be listed on the site. “We presented the site to the Ministry of Health; they confirmed that it was in line with their objectives and those of the WHO, which is to facilitate access to care,” concludes Patrick Kersten.
