Launched in August 2016 by Anne-Céline Lescop, CaptainJet is the first private jet booking service offering. Since 70% of all bookings go through intermediaries and the commission charged is often variable. CaptainJet places the passenger at the centre of the booking process, where they can directly select a company, aircraft type and negotiates the price. In addition, users can also book tickets through the app in 5 taps on both Android and iOS platform.

The company has raised €2.5 million from ten private investors, including, amongst others, Benjamin Cardoso, founder of Le Cab and Xavier Court, co-founder and partner of vente-privee.com. CaptainJet is utilizing the fund to support its development through the expansion of its operational and marketing teams.

#2 Travelsify

Travelsify is a travel product DNA platform, that powers next-generation personalized search with user-relevant and differentiating database of Travelsify Hotel DNA, Restaurant DNA, and Travel Destination DNA. Founded by Alexander Weber, Alexandra Fernandez Ramos, and Bruno Chauvat in 2016, Travelsify delivers an exclusive suite of Travel Product DNA to online booking platforms, hotel groups, artificial intelligence or voice-based travel bots, and targeted advertising platforms.

The company has raised a funding of €7M in two funding rounds. Moreover, Travelsify is a privately held company with offices in Luxembourg, New York City, and Singapore.

#3 Doctena

Luxembourg-headquartered Doctena is a next-generation medical booking platform, which aims at assisting patients to have easier access to the doctors’ agendas. The patients can see the doctors availabilities online or with the help of mobile applications. It is currently available in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and integrates with most existing medical calendar software. Founded by Alain Fontaine, Marc Molitor, and Patrick Kersten, the company has raised a funding amount of €12.5M till now.

#4 Talkwalker

Talkwalker is all about empowering brands and agencies to optimize the impact of their communication efforts. This social media analytics platform monitors and analyzes online conversations on social networks, news websites, blogs and forums in 187 languages. Founded by Christophe Folschette and Thibaut Britz, Talkwalker is headquartered in Luxembourg and has offices in New York City, San Francisco and Frankfurt. The company has raised € 9M in three funding round. Having said that, Marlin Equity Partners, a global investment firm with over $6.7 billion of capital under management, acquired a majority stake in Talkwalker in 2018.

JobToday is an employment agency based out of Luxembourg. Founded by Eugene Mizin and Polina Montano in 2015, this hiring app matches job seekers and employers by location and other work criteria through its mobile messaging interface. This app can be used to find hourly, part-time, or full-time employment 24/7. Till now the company has raised around €73.8M in four rounds.
