It has been busy this autumn for Doctena, the digital platform for booking medical appointments. After the announcement of the handover between Patrick Kersten and Alain Fontaine at the head of the startup, Doctena reached the symbolic level of a 1000 health care providers who opted for the company’s online calendar and appointment scheduling solutions.
The company, whose mission, since its launch, has been to simplify the relationship between the dentist and the patient, has been between patients and doctors, provides the latter with software that allows them to expose all of their online availability. The most represented specialties are dentists, general practitioners and physiotherapists. Patients can then directly take go to the platform.
Doctena offers an internal software to help each physician better manage the organization of his practice. On average, 90% of appointments are taken by existing patients. Thus, in addition to saving valuable time and money, health professionals are able to offer a complete service to an existing patient.
“We work daily to facilitate the work of our clients by providing them with the best possible service and new functionalities, such as online payment for patients or the last-minute availability system”, says Alain Fontaine, CEO and co-founder of Doctena.
Since March 2020 and the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company has also launched its video-consultation functionality, enabling the medical profession to offer remote consultations in order to move away from waiting rooms thus reducing the risk of infection with the virus.
Doctena, a company founded in 2013, is one of the European leaders in e-health, with more than 1.5 million medical appointments managed per month. The application is available at Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Austria. In total, more than 10,000 professionals work with Doctena’s solutions.
